Community Benefit Fund Recipients

At every Clearway project, our local staff allocate annual Community Benefit Funds to nearby organizations. In total, we expect to contribute more than $1 million to Fresno County organizations as we develop, build and operate in the region.

West Hills Community College District– Clearway has established an endowment that will fund two scholarships each year, in perpetuity, specifically for graduates of Mendota USD and Golden Plains USD. We are also sponsoring 20 students' participation in the Jump Start summer internship program and supporting the Firebaugh Campus Pantry Program.
Centro La Familia– Clearway has made direct contributions to the Kerman office in support of family services for the West Side Communities.
Central California Food Bank– Clearway has made a contribution to cover one year of a once-monthly food distribution event in Tranquillity, with a commitment to cover two additional years in the future.
Mendota Community Corporation – Clearway has made constributions towards the various educational programs, extracurricular activities, and community-focused initiatives MCC supports including a food drive, toy drive, and the Easter Egg Hunt.
Poverello House – Clearway has been a two-time Gold Sponsor of annual Run for Meals event.
Tranquility Elementary School – Clearway sponsored two backpack and school supply giveaway events during construction of our Luna Valley project.

Labor Unions

Every clean energy project creates an opportunity for local craftworkers to earn family-supporting wages while helping power their community. Clearway is proud to partner with local Unions in Fresno County during construction of our facilities.

The Luna Valley Solar project created more than 250 jobs during construction, with craftworkers from four local Unions represented. The Heartland Energy Center expects to create more than 600 jobs, with multiple Project Labor Agreements in place.
